Michael (Twin) Harris is a Richmond, VA native with a heart rooted in rhythm, soul, and storytelling. From humble beginnings copying his older brother’s dance moves with his twin brother to performing on the legendary Apollo Theater stage, Michael’s journey is one of perseverance, passion, and purpose.

Raised in a musically rich household, Michael was surrounded by the sounds of legends like Mahalia Jackson, Marvin Gaye, and Teddy Pendergrass. Music wasn’t just in the air—it was in his blood. Alongside his twin, Mitchell, he began dancing and singing at a young age, later forming groups like “Too Much” and the fan-favorite dance crew TMB (Them My Boys).

After losing both parents before graduating high school, Michael leaned into his faith, family, and art. His sister Terrish and older brothers, Ricardo and Darnell (who passed away in 2023), played a pivotal role in ensuring he stayed on track. Despite serving 26 years in the military, his passion for music never faded, and at times he was called upon to sing the National Anthem at promotion ceremonies and other occasions. While stationed in Pittsburgh, PA, he met and became good friends with Keith Brown and Martin Johnson, later forming the group “The Distinguished Gentlemen.” With encouragement from loved ones—especially his wife of 25 years, Jermall—he made the bold decision to pursue music full-time after retirement.

He stepped into the music world with his debut album, Just The Beginning, released on February 28, 2025—a powerful reflection of his life journey filled with resilience, love, purpose, and fun. The support from his wife has been so instrumental that she created several line dances to his songs, so be on the lookout. Sippin & Steppin, released on June 27, 2025, provides a smooth, southern soul vibe that you can dance to and enjoy all day long.
